Mike Lonergan has by far the most executive experience of the four announced candidates — he has served over 20 years as an Executive Director, General Manager and Department Director.¹

He has over six years of success on the Tacoma City Council — listening to all citizens and providing solid leadership through a most challenging time.²

Mike Lonergan is known as a man of integrity. As Chair of the Government Performance and Finance Committee, he has helped to restore trust in local government.³

Council Member Lonergan has been chosen by his peers to Chair both the Puget Sound Growth Management Policy Board (developing Vision 2040) and to Chair the Pierce County Regional Council (re-elected three terms).

Mike is a 25-year resident of Pierce County, married to Paula, father of two married sons, and has two grandchildren.

Lonergan is a University of Washington graduate (magna cum laude) and a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He furthered his education by completing the Senior Executives program at Harvard School of Government.

Add to this a lifetime of civic involvement and concern, serving as President of many local organizations, including Kiwanis, Gideons, Tacoma Little Theatre and Pierce County Coalition for the Homeless.
